Zlatibor is a mountain that covers an area of approximately 1000 km2. It is 30km long and up to 15 km wide. It extends from north-west to south-east. The highest peak is Tornik (1496 m). It is a well-known summer and winter resort, as well as a health resort. Zlatibor is located in the northern part of the Stari Vlah region, a border region between Raška, Herzegovina and Bosnia. It is situated in the area of the municipalities of Čajetina, UŽice and Nova VaroŠ in the Zlatibor District. The administrative centre of Zlatibor is a small town of Čajetina, but the centre of Zlatibor in every other respect – except the administrative – is the town of Kraljeve Vode (Zlatibor), a famous tourist town.
